In the organization of the operational structures of the IPA Cross-border Cooperation Program Montenegro-Albania 2014-2020, formal grant award ceremony for the selected projects for funding under the 1st CfP of the IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program Montenegro – Albania 2014- 2020 was held today, on May 17, in Shkodra. The conference was opened by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, the Head of the Operating Structure of Montenegro, the Director General of the Directorate for Financing and Contracting of EU Funds, the Program Manager at the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and the Head of the Joint Technical Secretariat.
The 8 cross-border projects have been proposed for financing, of which four are within the Thematic Priority 1: Encouraging tourism and cultural and natural heritage; two within the Thematic Priority 2: Protecting the environment, promoting climate change adaptation and mitigation, risk prevention and managemen; and two within the Thematic Priority 3: Promoting employment, labour mobility and social and cultural inclusion across the border.
On both sides of the border 30 partner organizations / institutions will participate in the implementation of the projects.
Representatives of the selceted projects within this CfP presented their projects, as well as the activities that will be carried out within these projects in the next 36 months. Among the supported projects is the project ADP-Zid – Child Friendly Tourism in the Cross-Border Region, which includes the partner organization Center Children Today from Albania.
The conference was attended by representatives of the operational structures of the IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program Montenegro – Albania 2014-2020, representatives of relevant institutions and municipalities from Montenegro and the Republic of Albania, representatives of the beneficiaries, as well as representatives of the civil sector and the media.
