Expected results of the project:
- Montenegro and Albania submit participatory developed TBR nomination form for LSW to UNESCO;
- Stakeholders and local population participate and support nomination of the SLW as an UNESCO TBR;
- Regional agency of protected areas in Shkoder and National Parks office in Podgorica equipped to increase frequency and scope of conservation and monitoring.
Target groups: ministries dealing with environment in Montenegro and Albania; UNESCO National commissions in Montenegro and Albania; National environment agencies in Montenegro and Albania; regional and local agencies dealing with environmental management in Montenegro and Albania; local governments; Universities, NGOs and Associations; local farmers, touristic service provider, fishermen; local organizations; media, youth, women and vulnerable groups.
Project area: Montenegro – Podgorica; Tuzi; Cetinje; Danilovgrad; Bar; Ulcinj; Albania – Shkoder and Malësia Madhe.
Impact of the project: To foster collaborative designation of Skadar/Shkoder Lake Watershed (SLW) as UNESCO Transboundary Biosphere Reserve (TBR).
