Expected results of the project:

• Platform for guiding local communities towards ZeroWaste towns created;
• Local communities encouraged and supported to reduce, recycle and reuse waste;
• Sustainability of ZeroWaste practices ensured.

Target groups

• Local population of Margegaj and Gusinje – at least 5268 of them, or 80% of total population;
• Local businesses in Margegaj and Gusinje – approximately 30 of them;
• Local schools – at least 3 schools with 100 students;
• Communal companies – 2 companies with approximately 20 employees.

Project area

• Municipality of Gusinje in Montenegro;
• Municipality of Tropoje, (Margegaj administrative unit) in Albania.

Impact of the project

Residual waste will be reduced through waste reduction, reuse and recycling measures in the municipalities of Gusinje in Montenegro and Tropoje, (Margegaj administrative unit) in Albania, thus contributing to the protection of environmental resources in lake and alpine areas.
