As part of preparation activities before the publication of the 2nd Call for Proposals within IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Montenegro-Albania Info Days and Partner Search Forums were organized in Shkodra (Albania) and Podgorica (Montenegro). The events were organized by the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Cross-border Cooperation Programmes Montenegro – Albania and Montenegro – Kosovo 2014-2020, in cooperation with Operating Structures of the Programme, the European Integration Office of Montenegro, Ministry of Finance of Montenegro – Directorate for Finance and Contracting of the EU Assistance Funds (CFCU) and Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania. A total of 142 participants were present, representing municipalities, non-governmental organizations, educational and other institutions from both countries.
The aim of the events was to inform the participants about the IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Montenegro – Albania 2014-2020, the principles of cross-border partnership and the overall content of the Application package. Moreover, the participants took part in thematic workshops of particular interest to them, which enabled them to share project ideas, identify possible partners, exchange contact details and create basic foundation for a future possible partnership with potential applicants form the other side of the border. The thematic priorities of the programme that were discussed among partners and that will be covered by the 2nd Call for Proposals as per the published Work Programme will be:
- Protecting the environment, promoting climate change adaptation and mitigation, risk prevention and management;
- Promoting employment, labour mobility and social and cultural inclusion across the border.
